🔸 Enigma cipher machine emulator
Welcome to @EnigmaBot - emulator of the most famous cipher machine called Enigma.
The Enigma is a portable electro-mechanical rotor cipher machine, that was used by German military durning World War II, and some other countries and organizations from early 1920s and up to 1970s. The Enigma was created by German engineer Arthur Scherbius at the end of World War I. He sold the patent to Gewerkschaft Securitas, which has started the production of Enigma in 1923. Since 1926 it was used by German military.
This bot emulates algorithms of machines Enigma M3 and Enigma M4 and one of procedures that was used in German army. Some settings may be compatible to early models. Additionally, one useful change was made inspired by @m209bot emulator - emulator changes Z letter to whitespace when message is being deciphered. You also can setup emulator in configurations that can not be done in real machines. Play with this bot around telegram chats and groups to easily hide your text messages and other fun.
Emulator can encrypt and decrypt full unicode messages. E.g. you can send and receive normal text, smiles and so on, while the real machine can be operated only with latin alphabet. This feature is made by encoding any text in base26 before enciphering.
You can find information about real Enigmas on wikipedia article, and additional very detailed articles can be found on Crypto Museum and Franklin Heath Ltd Wiki.
ATTENTION! Currently, Enigma provides a very weak encryption algorithm and should not be used for encryption any sensitive data.
🔸 Bot is trying to decrypt every message that you send to it if it's possible.
Encrypting the message is available though inline mode or by /encrypt command.
With inline mode message will be sent with Decrypt button, so anybody who have same machine settings can decrypt the message.
You can also easily share your settings.
🔸 Available commands:
🔹 /random - generate random settings
🔹 /settings - show current settings
🔹 /setup - setup machine manually
🔹 /encrypt - encrypt message
🔹 /encrypt_all - encrypt unicode message
